Kalahari safari

Day 1 - Khama Rhino Sanctuary
After spending the previous night at a lodge in South Africa, drive to the Khama Rhino Sanctuary in time for an evening game drive
Day 2 - Central Kalahari Game Reserve
Travel north to the CKGR, camping first at Deception Valley. The vastness and arid beauty of this reserve will arrest you
Days 3&4 - Central Kalahari Game Reserve

Spend two days exploring the area, focusing on Leopard and Sunday Pans. The CKGR is one of the best places in Botswana to spot cheetah
Day 5 - Western Makgadikgadi / Boteti

Drive to the western Makgadikgadi region, where you spend the night at a camp overlooking the dry Boteti riverbed, where herds of wildebeest and zebra congregate in search of water in the permanent waterholes
Day 6 - Maun

Drive to Maun, possibly taking a scenic flight over the delta in the late afternoon
Days 7&8 - Guma Lagoon
Spend the next two days relaxing at Guma Lagoon in the western Okavango Delta, doing a mokoro day trip along the channels and waterways of the delta 
Day 9 - Caprivi
Continue north to an exciting camp in the western Caprivi, spending the night in a tree house overlooking the Kavango river
Day 10 - BwaBwata National Park
Stop over at Bumhill campsite by the Kwando river in the BwaBwata National Park
Days 11-14 - Chobe National Park 
Drive first to Savuti, famous for its elephants, lions and hyenas, all of which visit the campsite area regularly! Travel to Ihaha where you camp by the Chobe River
Day 15 - Kasane
Spend the night at a lodge in Kasane, taking a sunset boat cruise on the river
Days 16&17 - Makgadikgadi Pans
Drive to the Makgadikgadi, where you take a guided overnight trip onto the Makgadikgadi Pans, experiencing this vast expanse of nothingness for yourself
Day 18 - Francistown 
Stop over at a campsite on a private farm on your way east
Days 19&20 - Tuli 
Spend the last two days relaxing at a lodge in the picturesque Tuli area, taking advantage of guided activities and meals before returning to Johannesburg

Okavango safari

Days 1-3 - Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park (South African side)
Spend the first near Kuruman, and enter the park in the afternoon, spending the first night in a dune cabin at Kielie Krankie Wilderness camp. The second and third days are then spent exploring the Nossob fossil river valley, camping.
Days 4-6 - Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park (Botswana side)
Between the South African and Botswana sides of the park lies spectacular dune country and some challenging 4x4 driving. Spend the time in the Mabuasehube section around several pans, each of them captivating, with good game viewing.
Day 7 - Kang
Leave the KTP and travel north, stopping over at a rest camp near Kang.
Day 8 - Ghanzi
Continue north to Ghanzi, where you spend the night at a camp near the town..
Days 9-12 - Central Kalahari Game Reserve
The Central Kalahari Game Reserve is one of the world's largest, and the feeling of space and sheer freedom is magical – a true wilderness experience. Animals such as gemsbok, hartebeest and springbok are common, and predators are frequently seen – your best chance of seeing cheetah is here.
Day 13 - Western Makgadikgadi / Boteti
Travel east to a tented camp on the banks of the dry Boteti river in the western Makgadikgadi, spending time in the hide built into the bank, overlooking a waterhole where sometimes hundreds of zebra and wildebeest congregate..
Day 14 - Njuca Hills
Drive through the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park to Njuca Hills - elevations in an expanse of flat grassland, a very peaceful setting.
Days 15&16 - Nxai Pan
Nxai Pan features large expanses of grassland interspersed with camel and umbrella thorn tree islands. Zebra, gemsbok, hartebeest and giraffe are also common and, lion and cheetah are frequently seen.
Day 17 - Maun
Spend the night at a lodge in Maun, stocking up on food and fuel.
Days 18&19 - Moremi
Spend two nights in Moremi Game Reserve - a beautiful region featuring open grasslands, forest and river floodplains. Moremi is one of the most rewarding game viewing areas in Botswana. Camp at Xakanaxa and Khwai campsites.
Days 20&21 - Savuti
Travel to Savuti in the Chobe National Park. Savuti is famous for its elephants, lions and hyenas, all of which visit the campsite area. Listening to the night sounds from the safety of your rooftop tent is an unforgettable experience.
Day 22 - Linyanti
Linyanti is one of the most beautiful sites in Botswana, situated overlooking the Linyanti floodplain and reedbeds. Birdlife is spectacular, and your best chance of seeing the elusive African Wild Dog is here
Days 23&24 - Riverfront
Spend the next two nights camping at Ihaha campsite right by the Chobe river. The riverfront area is another excellent game viewing area, with many options.
Day 25 - Nata
Make your way south, spending the night in a chalet at a lodge near Nata.
Days 26&27 - Tuli
Your final two nights are spent at a self-catered bush camp in the Tuli area. With guided walks and drives, you have the chance to relax after your long trip.

An ultimate wildlife and 4x4 enthusiasts adventure, taking in all the major game reserves, including some of the more remote parts of the country where you will have the wildlife all to yourself.

Chobe safari

Days 1-3 - Mabuasehube
After spending the night at a lodge in South Africa, spend three nights in the Mabuasehube section of the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park. All the campsites are situated around open pans, featuring bush toilets and showers, and shade structures. This is one of the best places to see lion, as well as the elusive brown hyena and many desert bird species such as secretarybird and black korhaan.
Day 4 - Kang
Break the journey between Mabuasehube and Khutse at a rest camp near Kang
Days 5-7 - Khutse Game Reserve
Khutse has a stereotypical bushveld landscape, with some superbly located campsites. Many animals can be seen on the pans in the early morning and late afternoon, and a lot of game viewing can be done from the campsites.
Days 8&9 - Khama Rhino Sanctuary
Drive to the Khama Rhino Sanctuary – a community run project aimed at re-introducing rhinos into the wild. KRS is actually a small game reserve and has basic but comfortable chalets. Spend two days game viewing here.
Days 10-13 - Central Kalahari
Spend four days exploring the northern part of the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, focusing your time in Deception Valley, Tau Pan and Passarge Valley. Expect to see huge herds of springbok and gemsbok, as well as predators.
Day 14 - Boteti
Spend the night at a luxury lodge in the western Makgadikgadi, a welcome break from camping, with a night drive along the dry Boteti river a highlight.
Day 15 - Makgadikgadi Pans National Park
Camp in the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park at Njuca, surrounded by grassland and, if the timing is good, hundreds of grazing ungulates.
Day 16 - Francistown
Make your way back, stopping over at Francistown.
Days 17&18 - Tuli
Your final two nights are spent at a self-catered lodge on the banks of the Limpopo River. The surrounding area features rocky outcrops and bushveld, and is an ideal place to wind down after a camping trip through Botswana.

A Kalahari parks experience, best suited to the rainy season when the grasslands and pans attract large numbers of wildlife, and the previously arid desert landscape turns green and flowering.


Botswana safari

Day 1 - Maun
Arrive into Maun airport, and transfer to a lodge outside the town, spending the night in a luxury ensuite tent surrounded by amazing trees..
Days 2&3 - Guma
Fly from Maun to Seronga, where you then take a boat across the delta to Guma Lagoon. Spend two nights here in an ensuite tent overlooking the lagoon, taking part in mokoro and boat trips - a true wetland experience.
Days 4-6 - Mankwe
After flying back to Maun, pick up your 4x4 from the airport and drive 2 hours north to a bush lodge near Moremi Game Reserve. Spend 3 nights here in an ensuite tent, with guided activities including night drives in the surrounding area.
Day 7 - Nata
Travel east to Nata, spending the night at a lodge on the edge of the village.
Days 8&9 - Chobe riverfront
Drive north to Kasane, where you spend two nights at a lodge by the Chobe river. From here you will do your own game drives along the Chobe riverfront, where game viewing can be very rewarding. A sunset river cruise is a highlight.
Day 10 - BwaBwata National Park
Spend the next night at a luxury lodge in the BwaBwata National Park - one of Namibia's best kept secrets, and a birdwatchers paradise.
Days 11&12 - Mahango
Drive further along the Caprivi to spend the night in a unique tree house overlooking the Kavango river, at a camp not far from Mahango Game Park. You will do your own game drives in the park the following day..
Day 13 - Shakawe
Cross back into Botswana, making your way south, spending the night at a lodge just south of Shakawe, by the reedbeds of the delta - a very relaxing setting.
Day 14 - Maun
Your final night is spent back in Maun, where you spent your first night - before flying out the following day.

A luxury self-drive circuit, featuring lodges in the delta, Moremi and Chobe, as well as the Caprivi in Namibia. Can be adapted to suit non 4x4 vehicles.


Tuli safari

Days 1&2 - Ghanzi
Drive from Namibia, entering Botswana at the Mohembo border. Travel as far as Ghanzi, where you spend two nights in an authentic bushman hut. Here you have the opportunity of seeing something of the San way of life, with a local guide showing you how to gather food and search for water.
Day 3 - Maun
Travel 3 hours north to Maun, where you have the option of taking a scenic flight over the Okavango Delta in the late afternoon.
Days 4-6 - Moremi
Spend three nights in this beautiful part of Botswana, camping first at Third Bridge, then taking a guided trip from Mboma boat station, spending the night on an island. The trip is fully catered and your guide remains with you at all times. The final night is spent at Khwai campsite in the north-east of the reserve.
Days 7&8 - Savuti
Drive through the Chobe National Park, camping at the famous Savuti campsite. Explore this game rich area, which is also very beautiful, with rocky outcrops and rolling grasslands interspersed with tree 'islands'.
Days 9-11 - Kasane
Spend three nights at a lodge in Kasane, from where you will explore the Chobe riverfront. A day trip to Victoria Falls is also a good option from Kasane.
Days 12&13 - BwaBwata
Travel to the BwaBwata National Park, spending two nights at Nambwa campsite, attractively situated by the Mashi river. The campsite is run by the community and is very well maintained. Birdlife is excellent.
Day 14 - Divundu
Spend the night at a lodge near Divundu on your way west, before continuing your journey through Namibia...
